Getting to Bath

Flight

London Airports

London has multiple international airports, with London Heathrow (LHR) and London Gatwick (LGW) being the largest. From any London airport, you can use public transport to travel into central London and then catch a train (from London Paddington) or bus/coach to Bath. Further details on getting from London to Bath via bus, train or car is provided here: http://www.trevellers.com/how-to-get-from-london-to-bath/ Specific details on catching a train from London to Bath, along with a link to book tickets is also provided below.

Flight

Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport (BRS) is the nearest international airport to Bath. From Bristol, you can catch a train from Bristol Temple Meads train station to Bath Spa train station in under 20 minutes. However, there aren't a lot of destinations that fly into Bristol Airport; there is a wider range of flights into London airports.

Flight

Skyscanner

Shri only ever uses Skyscanner to book flights! You can buy tickets for your flight now or set price alerts to monitor prices over time. However, it's better to book as early as you can because prices tend to increase as the date approaches, particularly within a six month window.

Flight

Kayak

Kyle recommends Kayak as his flight comparison and booking site of choice!

Train

National Rail

Bath Spa is the name of the main train station in Bath. You can catch trains to Bath Spa from Bristol Temple Meads (less than 20 minutes) or London Paddington (less than 90 minutes). Tickets are cheaper when bought in advance and often buying two one-way (single) tickets are cheaper than buying a round-trip (return) ticket. Also, if you are travelling in groups of four or more people, you can get a discount of up to 33% off ticket prices. So we encourage you to band together and travel in groups, where possible! Further information on train times and tickets (including the option to buy) can be found on the National Rail website.

Hotel

Booking.com

We regularly use Booking.com to book accommodation in Bath. They have a wide range of properties ranging from bed and breakfasts, hotels to apartments. The website provides the capability to filter properties based on the facilities you need and also based on user ratings, allowing you to find the right property for your stay. Many properties also have a free cancellation policy. Bath is a small town, so you are never too far away from the action! However, if you want to stay close to the ceremony venue, then all you need to do is search for properties near the town centre or 'Bath Assembly Rooms' (postal/zip code: BA1 2QH).
