I have known Shawn for five years now. We meet at work and became close friends after having a snowball fight in the middle of downtown. After a few years, Shawn changed shifts and we began working together. After a long day, I got a phone call from Shawn. In a frantic state he tells me “I fell through my ceiling do you think you can fix it”. After sending me a photo of the damage, I knew we just became best friends. We then continued our friendship onto the golf course, after taking a 14 on the first hole the rest was history.

In the 5 years of knowing Shawn, I have learned to NEVER bring him anywhere near a serious situation. Shawn is the guy who always has a smile or smirk on his face, regardless of the situation, probably even in his sleep. Shawn’s smile is actually the reason we are friends. Well - that, and the fact that his smile led to BOTH of us getting into some sticky situations, but thats a story for another day. I am honestly grateful to have a friend like Shawn. His contagious smile is the foundation of our friendship; and also the reason for running into trouble as police officers.

Shawn and I have been best friends since childhood. We met when we were 5 & 6 and have been like brothers ever since. Where you found one of us, the other was never far behind. Every childhood memory I have involves Shawn pretty much. I have been very fortunate to be able to call Shawn my friend. Shawn is that once in a lifetime friend that not so easy to come by.
