Anand Karaj, often referred to simply as the “Sikh wedding ceremony”, is the sacred and joyous matrimonial ceremony observed in Sikhism. It is a solemn and spiritually significant event that unites two individuals in marriage within the Sikh tradition. General guidelines for attire in the Gurudwara: For Men: 1. Turban (optional but highly encouraged.) 2. Kurta Pajama or Sherwani: A traditional Indian outfit. 3. Jeans / Pants and a shirt are acceptable. 4. Avoid wearing hats or caps during the ceremony. For Women: 1. Salwar Kameez or Lehenga: Traditional Indian dresses are commonly worn. 2. Jeans, pants, maxi/midi skirts are all acceptable. During the ceremony, all in attendance will be sitting down on a carpeted floor. Please dress accordingly so you are comfortable.
