WE'RE GETTING MARRIED #PATELMETWICE

We met volunteering at RWJ Hospital in 2007. During the orientation, we were learning how to wash our hands to the tune of "Happy Birthday". Shahil whispered to me "baar baar din yeh aaye" and I could not stop laughing and rumor has it Shahil is still laughing today. We dated in high school but grew apart in college. We always kept in touch. In 2019, Shreena and Shahil found themselves single, in New Jersey, and it was love at second sight. We haven't looked back since then and fell in love all over again.

We were going on a vacation to travel through Spain. Shahil in his typical procrasting fashion decided that he was going to propose. He coordinated getting both of our families to Madrid at the end of the trip for a surprise proposal in front of the Madrid Gate. I looked over and he was down on one knee. I immediately started crying, but didn't say anything.... SPOILER ALERT! I SAID YES!!! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.

COVID has changed a lot of our plans, but we wanted to move forward with life. We decided to get #COCONUTTED via zoom and a small ceremony with family. On June 5th 2020, we decided to tie the knot in the eyes of the law.
