We met at an ETSU track meet when Jonathan came over and introduced himself to me (we were rivals...AU vs NGU.) But I was oblivious at first. Later on, I saw Jonathan's profile on Hinge and we were a match. We went to play mini-golf at McPherson Park and Jonathan brought me 3 tacos when I only asked for 2 (he's generous like that.) After that first date, the rest was history. We knew pretty early on that we were the right people for each other, and a year and some change later, Jonathan proposed to me at First Landing in VA Beach! It was definitely an answered prayer because I could not imagine marrying anyone else.

So, I saw a mutual friend of ours, Megan Partin, share a post on social media with Amanda in one of the pictures. I had to message Megan & ask, "Who is that? She's Beautiful." She told me it was Amanda, she's a great girl, and I really should get to know her. At this point I knew I was transferring to NGU, and I was currently running track at Anderson University. So, at the ETSU indoor meet I went over to the NGU camp, said hey to some people I knew, and then I introduced myself to Amanda (which was very out of character for me). Then I didn't talk to her again for 5 years... I legitimately thought I never had a chance with her, so I gave up even trying to pursue her. Fortunately, God gave us a chance to reconnect in 2020. In the middle of a global pandemic, I was able to get my college crush to date me. Now I get to marry her! God is good!
