Hotel

The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block

Flight

Denver International Airport (DIA)

There is only one airport in Denver so make sure you fly into DIA. It is currently under construction, so enjoy that. While DIA is in Denver County, it is not in the city of Denver. So if you are confused as to why you are in the middle of nowhere, you are in the right place!

Train

Denver Light Rail

From DIA, you can take the A-line into the city. There is only one line and it it only goes one way, so if you can't figure it out, I'm not sure what to tell ya. The last stop is Union Station - that's where you get off. Tickets cost $10.50 and it takes about 35 min. The train leaves every 15-30 min, but there is no service between 12:00-3:00am. If you arrive after midnight you will need to get a Lyft/Uber.

Travel Note

Getting Around Denver

Once you are downtown, the city is pretty walkable. You will need a car if you plan to explore the great outdoors that CO has to offer. Being Labor Day weekend, the mountains will be very secluded and traffic will be a breeze (that is a joke). It will be crazy, but beautiful so just plan accordingly. If you would like a rent a car you can do so at DIA. It's likely that hotels downtown will charge for parking (around $40-50/day) so keep that in mind. Ride shares are also widely available, along with e-scooters and bikes for perusing around. They are very fun, but can also be dangerous. Ride at your own risk.

Travel Note

Weather

It is going to be hot, even for you Miami folks. But it's a dry heat if that makes it any better (it doesn't). The internet is saying high/low: 87°/68°f (that's 30.5°/20° for my Celsius friends), but it's not uncommon for it to be around 100°f (37° c) in the heat of the day.

Travel Note

Altitude

Be aware that Denver is the Mile High City - 5,280 ft. above sea level. Please make sure to drink plenty of water and give your time to adjust before heading to the mountains if you are planning to do so.
