We both lived in the Icon Apartments in Waco, one floor away from each other. One day I was walking my dog Nyla, not long after she was released from the vet hospital. I was still new to having her and hadn’t socialized her with other dogs yet other than my parents, so when she decided to run over to another dog on this walk, I was very nervous. Luckily, this was Landon and his dog Winnie, who immediately took a liking to Nyla and they started playing while Landon and I made small talk - for all of one minute before Winnie rolled down the hill we stood on and Nyla raced after her, pulling me down the hill in the process! Landon helped me up, laughed it off with me, and the rest is history.

On Christmas Day, while on the way to my parent’s house for the morning, Landon decided to make a detour at Mother Neff State Park. The park was marked as closed online, but all of the gates were open and he wanted to “look around.” After pulling off into a parking lot, Landon asked me to go for a quick walk with him. Not even ten feet into the trail, I turned around to see Landon holding the ring. It was a very low key and intimate proposal, which was perfect for us!
