We were both one click away from deleting our online dating accounts. However, Rico decided to give it one last try and "slid into my DM". After a few messages back and forth, we exchanged numbers and talked for hours. It felt like we'd known each other for years, so we decided to meet in person to see if the connection remained. We both arrived at the meeting location and immediately the ice was broken. This man tried to blow us both up while pumping gas in his work truck LOL. We'd trveled to Cancun, Mexico to celebrate Deveon's graduation and Linda's birthday. Everyone was having a great time. Friday night we went to eat and had a bad experience. Not only was the service slow and poor, but the waiter spilled food on my clothes. At that moment, things turned for the good and the bad. I immediately went to change clothes to get ready for the club, and Rico used this moment to his advantage and planned the proposal. The next night we had dinner reservations for 8 pm. While at dinner, service again was slow and it was freezing in the restaurant. In the midst of trying to plan another night out on the town, Rico was planning to surprise me. I was sitting at the table playing the game on my phone, not knowing what was coming next. The manager came to apologize for our incident the night before and offered us shots of tequilla. Then he came back and asked did we want some champagne. When the bottles came no one knew who'd be opening them. I thought Deveon was going to, so I took my phone out to record him, but the waiter said he was going to open it. He shook it in an attempt to cause a champagne shower all while communicating to the other waiter to bring out a plate with a cake that had the words "Will You Marry Me". I was in complete shock. Speechless. I couldn't move or think. I looked at Rico and he was on one knee with the ring I'd picked out in a box, asking to marry me. After finding my breath I asked "Are you serious?" and he said "yes". At that moment the tears fell and all I could do was shake my head to say "YES"!.
