The Beginning of Our Forever

"How Nitin Popped the Question"

Our proposal story began with a grand 5-week trip to Europe, filled with adventure, laughter, and a little bit of secrecy. From the very start, Shonella had made one thing clear: no proposals in Europe—too cliché, she said. Little did she know, I had other plans, and a sparkling ring hidden in my cousin's luggage, dodging airports, security checks, and prying eyes through multiple countries. From the beginning, we built up the idea of a “photo shoot” in Switzerland, hyping it repetitively as to not grow any suspicious as the "day" grew nearer. As the days passed, I subtly suggested things like getting her nails done or planning outfits for Switzerland. But as the trip wound down and the boys in the group started acting a little too “well-groomed”—haircuts, pressed clothes, and secretive errands—Shonella’s suspicions began to grow. On the big day, as the boys disappeared to pick up balloons and meet the photographer, Shonella grew even more puzzled. Why was everyone acting so weird? Why couldn't we all leave together as we had done the entire trip? Finally, we arrived at a breathtaking spot by the lake, framed by a glowing sunset and majestic mountains. With the most picturesque backdrop imaginable, I turned to Shonella, heart racing, and asked her to be my bride. Her initial reaction? Uncontrollable laughter—probably shock, but I’ll take it! Then, through the laughter, she said yes and burst into happy tears. As the sun set on our magical moment, Shonella was showered with love and congratulations from family and friends over the phone. It was the perfect ending to our trip and the perfect beginning to our forever.
