We both swiped right on each other sometime in December 2014, but it wasn't until January 2015 that Scott decided to ask Nina out. Our first date was a cold Wednesday night in January attending a Washington Wizards basketball game in which one of Scott's favorite players, Kevin Durant was playing in. Although Scott wanted to watch the game, we spent the entire time talking, laughing, and eating pizza in the top row. Scott drove Nina home that night and asked her out to go out again that weekend!

Nina was getting ready to leave for Paris, France and had taken the day off to stay home and pack, ultimately ruining Scott's plan. Improvising, Scott asked Nina to wait in the laundry room of their apartment building. Nina thought that Scott was just doing something nice for her since she would be gone for 11 days. When Nina entered into the apartment, she saw flowers and a nice bottle of champagne on the coffee table. Excitedly, Nina ran over to the flowers first not really paying attention to where Scott was. Scott asked Nina to come and see the kitties, Rey and Rigz, in the bedroom. Upon arrival, Nina noticed that both of them had index cards around their necks. She bent down to pick up Rey to read the card and it said "Will you marry our dad?" Nina turned around and there was Scott down on one knee with a ring. Crying and laughing, Nina tackled Scott to the ground and said yes! We can't wait to celebrate with you!
