Whats the Dress Code?

Answer

We want you to be comfortable! If we had to sum it up we'd call it "Wedding Casual". Examples include (but are not limited to) a cool jumper or sundress, a button down and slacks, a fun outfit you found at the thrift store or already have in your closet from the last wedding. If you want to get fancy, feel free but don't feel obligated!

Whats the Parking Situation?

The venue, The Discovery Center, has a main gravel parking area that is about 50 yards from the main entrance along a paved ramp (on Google Maps it's literally called "Parking Lot at the Discovery Center). There is additional parking across the street next to the Sedgley Woods Disc Golf Course. You can also park along Reservoir Drive in the unlikely event that both lots are full. There is a bike parking area in the main parking lot that holds around 20 bikes. We'll have some additional bike parking set up inside the venue with A-frames. Dog pile?

So What Should I Expect?

We're planning all this ourselves and our aim is to make it fun, comfortable, and affordable for our guests. The venue itself is a reservoir and bird sanctuary. We chose this venue because it supports something we love, Fairmount Park! Our goal is to be as sustainable, and low impact as possible. Most of the items we are using are recycled or borrowed. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. The cocktail hour and the ceremony will take place outside (weather permitting) and dinner and festivities will take place inside with access to bathrooms, water, drinks, and other facilities. Outside, we have access to the grounds around the reservoir and a deck that extends out onto the water (the deck is available to use until sundown).
