Immediately smitten by Shivani, Tom asked her to be his date for the high school dance. Shivani accepted. Tom and Shivani went onto college to pursue their degrees and start their careers. They were no longer in contact, however, that would change after 7 years!

Tom and Shivani reconnected at a mutual friend’s home in 2017. They both exchanged phone numbers and talked for the next 8 months until Tom asked Shivani to be his girlfriend during a Taco Tuesday dinner! Their relationship continued to strengthen over the next 6 years. Together — they enjoyed traveling, hiking, concerts, being foodies, and the list continues to grow! They both have a goal to visit all the National Parks in America. So far they have visited 14 altogether. With Tom staying busy as a Financial Advisor and Shivani as a Nurse Practitioner, they both always made sure to spend as much time with one another when possible. Both of them were ready to take the next step!

Tom planned a special trip to Napa Valley in California where he had arranged a surprise proposal for Shivani. When the day arrived for Tom to pop the question, they drove up to Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California where Tom asked Shivani to marry him! Tom took out the ring along with a handwritten card. Shivani was more surprised to see that Tom had written a card by hand rather than the ring itself. The card was meaningful and beautifully written… Only to find out later on that Tom had used Chat GPT to write the card. The next day, they both flew back to Chicago. Tom had arranged for family and friends to surprise Shivani at a restaurant where the celebrations continued.

Since the proposal, Tom and Shivani had a formal engagement party with their close family and friends. They also traveled to Hawaii, which they describe to be the best trip they have taken together so far.
