The pandemic will go down in history as a life changing event for this generation. Authors will explain how, in many ways, life was put on hold indefinitely and the new norm was doing everything virtually. Shivang and Jolly also started off in this virtual world due to social distancing, and making this a coast to coast love story. Jolly’s Chicago roommate, Shrina, had kept her eyes and ears open for an eligible suitor, especially since Jolly always said, “Online dating is just not for me, meeting through family or friends would be ideal!” Call it the power of manifestation but, in January 2021 Jolly was virtually introduced to Shrina’s family friend’s son, enter Shivang. Starting off with long phone conversations, a few FaceTime dates to sending memes back and forth all day- they instantly became friends. Time went on and both became busy in their respective careers, and decided to take a break but continued to stay friends. Life works in mysterious but miraculous ways- and in the coming few months, these two met at Shrina’s wedding. This was the first time both met in person since being introduced and it was nothing less than magical. It was love at first sight- all it took was for Shivang to see a girl loudly singing along to Bollywood songs, and dancing the night away. As the night went on, Jolly approached both Shivang and his mom- Shivang just stared away and had to be reminded to say hello. And as they say, the rest is history! Shivang reached out to Jolly shortly after and both picked up right where they left off. What immediately stood out to Jolly was how kind, considerate and genuine he was. And what Shivang admired about her from day 1 was how smart, loving, and committed she was to her friends, family, and loved ones. In words of Shivang, “she makes me want to be the best version of myself, whether it’s at the gym, cooking, or even finding the best new show on Netflix.” Shivang claims he immediately knew Jolly was the one- so it is no surprise that on their first India trip together, he took that opportunity and planned the most magnificent proposal. It started out as a simple photoshoot since they were in the beautiful motherland surrounded by history and elaborate architecture. They were up in an area with such beautiful scenery, and kept moving up the area more and more, until they got to a spot that was surrounded by beauty of nature, and only birds singing songs nearby. He signaled the photographer and he said, “I have to say, dating you has been a dream come true so imagine what marrying you will be like?” And there it was, he got down on one knee and popped the question. It was the most magical day ever and nothing short of a fairytale !
