We met in October of 2011 at South Hall of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Matthew knocked on the wrong door looking for his friend. That knock led to a friendship which eventually led to a full on relationship in July of 2012. We spent the next 3 years learning more about our future careers and each other. I would type his papers, while he was ironing my chef coat. We studied, laughed, made memories and even worked together at old navy. Matthew cheered me on as I participated in my first musical, and started working in the restaurant industry. I supported him as he pledged for Phi Beta Sigma Inc and began his journey in business management. Wherever you saw one, you saw the other. We were inseparable. In May of 2015, we graduated with our bachelors and left our safe haven of Providence, Rhode Island. We moved back home to New York but living in two different areas of the state brought its challenges. In the fall of 2019, we parted ways. The distance grew further, but the love never faded away. Two years later we reconnected, more mature and ready for a fresh start. As we shared our goals and dreams we realized we were more aligned than ever before. Our shared love for traveling and food led us to Aruba where Matthew asked for my hand in marriage. We are anticipating the next phase of our lives as husband and wife. May God continue to bless our love journey.
