Our story actually begins because of our best friends, Brittany and RJ. It was in the college days at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. RJ had classes with Jeremy and Brittany and Erika were in Pi Beta Phi together. Brittany invited both of us to attend her ballet recital and we happened to sit in the same row. Shortly after, Erika began attending parties hosted by Jeremy...where we shared a love of chocolate cake and became chocolate cake soulmates.

Our first date was like no other. It started with a plane ride around the city and was followed by trip to a Denver brewery (where she politely drank a beer even though she didn’t like beer at the time..but he didn’t know that till later.) we went go-cart racing and then drove through a Christmas lighting event…in January. From there, we finished with an unexpected week long trip to Durango to visit with our best friends, who introduced us. The plan for a one-day date turned into a week-long adventure together, which has continued into our seven-year journey together.
