We're getting married!

In 2019, both Jordan and Shirley were strangers, working in Manhattan only a couple of blocks away from each other. Shirley was living in Brooklyn, while Jordan was on the other side of the Hudson in Jersey City. Despite being geographically close to each other, it took a computer algorithm to have them meet. In November 2019, they matched on Hinge and went on their first date. Shirley and Jordan met up for coffee in Manhattan and immediately hit it off. They had so much in common: including their taste in music, careers in tech, and desire to travel. No one knew there were only a few months before lockdown, but Shirley and Jordan managed to do a lot in that time. They went skiing for each of their first times, traveled to Aruba, saw a show from Heilung's (a European folk metal band) first US tour, did community service in Brooklyn, and much more. When the lockdown happened, Shirley and her faithful four-legged companion, Flint, crossed the Hudson, by way of Manhattan, and moved to Jersey City with Jordan. The move will not be forgotten by them because though they had been assigned the “A-Team”, it was a disaster. The crew had 1 screw driver amongst four people. All of Shirley's belonging almost flew out of the truck because they did not secure the back before driving away. The pièce de résistance of the move would have to be a mover cutting himself and telling no one. The mover then proceeded to bleed on many things, including Shirley’s couch. Needless to say, the company fully refunded the cost of the move. When Shirley brought up adopting a second dog, Jordan instead thought they should try fostering. Over the course of the next 2 years, they fostered more than 10 dogs. They got to experience the whole gamut of dog personalities. From spicy to docile, they saw it all. One dog in particular, Narwhal, managed to bite multiple members of Jordan's family. Shirley and Jordan picked up a particularly cute pup, Shaina, from the Vince Lombardi rest stop in New Jersey. Jordan’s mom ended up adopting her and she always greets Shirley with an abundance of kisses. 2023 was a big year for Jordan and Shirley. On August 4th, with the help of Flint, Jordan asked Shirley to marry him. Flint wore a tiny backpack that contained the engagement ring. When Shirley came home, Flint came greeted her and presented the ring. In September, they were off to China to explore and celebrate with Shirley’s relatives. In October, the two decided it was time for a change from Jersey City. They thought about where they wanted to live and settled on where it all started, Manhattan, NYC. There they finally adopted their second dog, Melon. Melon brings a youthful energy that has given Flint a second wind in his golden years. Shirley and Jordan are ready to begin their journey as a married couple, taking Melon and Flint along for the adventure.
