Our story begins in the digital world, where we first met on Facebook Dating. We hit it off quickly, but life's demands soon pulled us in different directions. We both got caught up with work, and our initial connection faded. However, Jonathan wasn't ready to let me slip away. After some time passed, he decided to reach out again, hoping for a second chance. The second time around, we both felt more determined to see where this could go. We arranged our first real meeting--though, I'll admit, I got there a little early (okay, okay a lot early!). As someone who never likes to be later, I arrived long before Jonathan could finish his patrol shift at the apartment. So, I waited, nervously checking my phone, hoping he'd be done soon. Eventually, Jonathan arrived, and we then sat down for dinner, excited to finally meet in person. Our first date was at Jamaica Beach in Galveston, and it was everything we hoped for and more. We spent the day enjoying the beach, laughing, and getting to know each other better. Afterward, Jonathan and I went to dinner, and as the night wrapped up, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I'll never forget that moment-- the excitement and the certainty that we were starting something truly special. The past five years have been nothing short of amazing. We've experienced so much together; We've grown individually and as a couple, we faced challenges, celebrated victories, sought comfort for a painful event that affected us both, and made countless memories along the way. From building a life full of love and joy, to discovering shared hobbies like cooking and gardening, every day has been a reminder of how much we mean to each other. As we look back on our journey, we're incredibly blessed of the foundation we've built. We've learned so much about ourselves and each other, testing boundaries and embracing the beautiful imperfections of life. Through it all, we've grown closer and stronger, and we know we're ready for whatever comes next. Today, as we celebrate this new beginning, we feel so grateful for the love and support we've received from our friends and family.
