We met through an online dating website. I really liked Alan's profile statements and thought he had a really nice smile in his profile picture, so I reached out and sent him a message. He replied back within a few hours and wasted no time making his intentions known. He was "keen as mustard" from the beginning. We setup a date to meet in person 2 days later. We met at a lovely restaurant called Bowley's on the Bay in Middle River Maryland for lunch. Alan made a good first impression on me with his charming accent and interesting conversation. Needless to say, the first date went very well. We decided to meet again the following week for dinner. Our third date followed 2 weeks later with in-door skydiving, dinner, and a movie. By the third date, we both knew that we wanted to be with each other. We both deleted our profiles from the dating website and the rest as they say is "history"!
After working 12 hours at the hospital, I came home to find Alan and my mother standing in the kitchen with big suspicious smiles on their faces. I didn't think anything of it and went upstairs to remove my uniform and shower. But, before I could get my uniform fully off, I turned around and there was Alan, on bended knee with a ring. I stood in the bedroom half- dressed in my uniform top and happily said YES! It was PERFECT and beautiful! Apparently, the reason for the suspicious smiles was that Alan had a long conversion with my mother while I was at work and asked for her blessing to marry me.
