How We Met Part 1

Kyle's Side

It all began with a young adults worship night at our church. I was actually on a boat with my roommate Kyle and some of his friends and I remembered at 4 pm on Lake Pleasant that there was a worship night at 6 pm. I asked if they could drop me off at the dock and I made my way over to Scottsdale in my swimsuit and smelling like the lake. I met up with some friends and I met a group of people. This was the first time I met Marissa, but I meet 15 people all at once and I caught her name but I was not 100% sure that her name was Marissa if that makes sense. So the worship night started and I just kept looking over my shoulder at this cute blonde girl. When the night was wrapping up I tried to go find Marissa and I couldn't find her. This started becoming a theme over the next 6 weeks at church. I would see her at church during service and then rush out into the lobby and put my back to the exit and filter people coming at me. This went on for weeks and I even recruited friends to help me look for her. Finally, we met, I asked her out for coffee later that night. We met for coffee at 8 pm and I got home at 2 am. I think it went pretty well and I was sure to secure a second date to go dancing on Friday, but we hung out everyday that week and still went dancing on Friday. That's all folks!

How We Met Part 2

Marissa's Side

I first met Kyle at a worship night at our church in late July. We were introduced to each other very briefly and I remember thinking how it was weird he was dressed like he was going swimming. I had no idea he had just come off the lake and came straight to the worship night. I thought about him for the rest of the night but didn't want to get my hopes up. After that night we didn't talk or see each other for almost 6 weeks. Finally, one day I was walking through church with my mom and he caught my eye. I remembered meeting him weeks before and was really interested in talking to him. Unfortunately, we didn't get to talk but I was really hoping somehow we would be able to connect. Luckily for me, later that day he messaged me on Facebook and asked me to coffee. We went out that same night and ended up staying at coffee for 6 hours. I knew that night that he was the man I was going to marry.
