Isabel and Shion met when they were put on the same Eagle Games (Sports Day) team at Dalat International School in Penang, Malaysia. Isabel made the first move by friending and messaging Shion and then Shion asked Isabel out first. Their first date was at Subway. After dating for 8 months, Shion moved to Australia and they remained in contact as close friends for the next 7 years. They began dating for the last time in March 2025 and got engaged on October 19th, 2025 in Penang, Malaysia, where they met.
