Since their first date on December 1st, 2017, John and Katelyn knew they both found someone special. That first date quickly turned into several dates throughout the week. From taco dinners to horror movie nights to strolls through botanical gardens filled with holiday lights, the couple quickly knew of the love they shared for each other. In the summer of 2019, John and Katelyn moved into their first apartment together with Katelyn's cat, Gypsy. By now, we all know what's to come...quarantine. In the spring of 2020, John continued to work while Katelyn progressed through her cosmetology licensing program as best one could given the circumstances. They were making plans for their future while the world seemed to be at a stand still. In the winter of 2021, shortly after Thanksgiving, John gave Katelyn the surprise of a lifetime. Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens was fully decorated with lights and artwork to kick off the holiday season. It was their favorite spot to visit that time of year, especially since it was where John took Katelyn on one of their many dates within that first week together. Under a massive oak tree lit up with lights of purple, blue and green, John asked Katelyn the big question. Needless to say, it was an easy yes! The couple had many things to celebrate within that year in addition to their engagement. They welcomed Lulu, the couple's 2nd cat, into their home. They bought their first house in August of 2022. Then their family started to grow even more. In February of 2023, John brought home their 9 week old puppy, Moose. Their home and hearts were full. Or so they thought. That same year, in the summer of 2023, another puppy stumbled into their path. Otter became their 4th addition to their now very full home and hearts. Now settled into their home just outside of their small city that they love so much, John and Katelyn are excited to see what their future holds. Lets start it off by celebrating their love, the love of friends and family, and all that's to come.
