Sarah and John met during a Communication Arts class at Allegheny College in fall 2013, during his senior year and her sophomore year. Even though their story did not begin there, the college was small enough that their paths would eventually cross again. During Sarah’s senior year in 2016, John reached out to her on Facebook while she was on spring break at the happiest place on earth. She decided to answer and the rest is history as they say. They spoke every day and connected easily on a different level. A month later, John visited Allegheny for Spring Fest (a big party weekend) with some friends and made sure to meet up with Sarah. The two had an instant connection and spent most of the weekend together. Both knew they wanted to see each other again. John visited Sarah the weekend before her graduation, which is when they officially started dating, and invited her down to Nashville during Memorial Day weekend. Through three years of long distance between PA, NJ, and TN, Sarah and John built a strong foundation and made sure to spend as much time as possible together. They spent many weekends flying to one another (TSA may know them by name at this point), exploring Philadelphia and Nashville, doing graduate school work at Starbucks, eating at many sushi restaurants, and cheering on their sports teams (unless they were playing each other). Once Sarah finished graduate school in 2019, she moved to Nashville to begin their lives together. Since then, Sarah and John have planted their roots in Nashville - establishing their respective careers, adopting two dogs - Speckles, or Skechers as Sarah’s grandma would say, and Steel, as well as recently buying a home together in East Nashville. On November 14, 2021, after many months of Sarah not so patiently waiting, John finally asked her to marry him. She could not say “yes” fast enough! Sarah and John are thrilled to be celebrating their love with their family and friends soon. Thank you for being a part of their special day!
