As any modern love story starts, we met on an online dating app: Hinge. Sunday: Our first date was on May 1, 2022. We started out the date with a round of mini golf at Puttery, followed by a pizza dinner paid for by Josh since losing (by one point) to Shiley in mini golf ⛳️ We then had ice cream and shared too much information about ourselves. Monday: Our next date was the following day! We learned that we had the most important thing in common: love for Italian food. We also went on a walk around SMU, and played card/board games and the conversation game “We’re Not Really Strangers (WNRS)”. This game sparked deep talks about ourselves, how we grew up, our dreams, fears, faith, and so much more 💕 Saturday: Our third date we went to the Dallas arboretum from open to close to enjoy a charcuterie board, Spanish music, hand holding, and the trees. We finished the entire box of WNRS! From there we explored, cried, and laughed through many more days with each other. From getting to know each other through a deck of cards, to still getting to know one another through everyday conversations, we are continually learning and loving each other 🥰

The proposal came as a total surprise! Shiley had her suspicions that it might happen on their Europe trip November 2023. Josh expected Shiley had suspicions. Our trip to Canada was super last minute. Shiley was on her last day of her Ireland trip when we spontaneously booked a trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario. The perfect opportunity for a surprise! After a three hour plane ride and an hour and half road trip to Niagara Falls we left the hotel to walk over to the falls. Right outside of our hotel there was a pretty fountain and staircase area where we decided to take pictures… Josh asked Shiley to do solo pics of her turned around looking at the fountain. As Shiley turned back, there was Josh on one knee ☺️ We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Denton!
