Question

What is the château de Bouthonvilliers like?

Answer

We have access to the estate from 4:00pm October 8th to 10:00am October 12th. It's a beautiful estate about one and a half hours from Paris. The castle is composed of two 16th century wings and a 18th century central part. The château de Bouthonvilliers is surrounded by beautiful English-style grounds and more than 100 hectares of a magnificent forest. A link to the venue's website is in the "Things to do Tab" if you want to know even more! Instagram - @chateaubouthonvilliers

Question

What will the accommodations be like?

Answer

There are three buildings on the grounds for accommodations. The main building has 11 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, sleeping 15. The cottage in the outbuildings has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, sleeping 12 people. The loft in the outbuildings has 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom and a large living space with 6 additional beds, sleeping 8 total. Each structure has a kitchen, making 3 kitchens total. There is a heated pool on the grounds. You can view the property on its website linked in the "Things To Do" tab. There is also a VRBO listing for the château which gives more information on amenities and accommodations. https://www.vrbo.com/1328225a?unitId=1496897

Question

What is the weather going to be like and will events be affected by weather?

Answer

The weather will be a little chilly (~50-65 degrees) and can be rainy during this time of year, so we recommended bringing optional light jackets and appropriate footwear for the gardens surrounding the château. The accommodations span three buildings which will require going outside to walk from one to the other. The rehearsal dinner will be indoors in the château. The wedding will be in a chapel on the grounds and the dinner after will be inside a greenhouse. The reception to follow will be inside the château. While each event will be indoors, walking in between locations will be required. We also plan to take pictures in the garden as long as weather permits.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For the rehearsal dinner on October 9th, we recommend cocktail attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and button-ups and slacks. For the wedding on October 10th, we recommend semi-formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We are not asking for or expecting any gifts, as just your willingness to go to France and spend time with us is more than enough.

Question

What are we doing after we check out on October 12th?

Answer

Savannah & Tristan plan to travel throughout Spain for the following week. Anyone is welcome to join us!

Question

How will food work besides the rehearsal and wedding dinners?

Answer

We aren't going to let you go hungry! Family cooked dinner Wednesday. Breakfasts will generally be light things that we will cook at the Château (fruit, eggs, bagels, pastries, etc). We should have leftovers handy from the dinners and pizza on our chill day. If you are feeling anything else there are restaurants and shops nearby.
