Grace and Stone met by pure happenstance – a simple friend-of-a-friend meet-cute. Stone, originally from Windermere, FL., was attending Auburn University, and Grace who hailed from Atlanta, GA., was attending The University of Mississippi – they were living an exact 330 miles apart. It was Halloween weekend of their junior year, and of course, another great fall weekend for some SEC football! Auburn would be playing on Ole Miss’s turf, and this fortunately became the perfect setup for the future couple to meet. In typical Ole Miss fashion, Oxford was in full-swing – football AND a holiday called for one wild weekend! Grace’s AOPi roommate, Emily, who would later become her Maid of Honor, had invited her high school friend, Stone, along with a few college buddies, to stay with them for the weekend and get the true Ole Miss experience – visits to The Square, tailgating in The Grove, eating chicken on a stick … the whole deal. The couple’s first interaction was brief, but impactful. The whole group attended a Halloween party in the neighborhood that night, and Grace and Stone hit it off immediately. They spent time together throughout the weekend, but Sunday rolled around too soon and then it was time to say goodbye. After the short visit, they stayed in touch but it wasn’t until they reconnected on spring break a few months later that they knew there would definitely be more to their story. Over the next few weeks, there were several back and forth trips from school to school and soon they were seeing each other exclusively. They spent the next year and a half taking turns driving the five-hours to visit each other, until they both graduated and were FINALLY able to live in the same city. Grace moved to Orlando, where Stone was already living and working, and the rest was history. Now, a short six years later, Grace and Stone will be getting married on the exact same date that they met. Hotty Toddy and War Damn Eagle!
