Due to COVID-19 continuing to create uncertainty with traveling and gathering here in Seattle, we’ve decided to cancel our first year anniversary celebration, scheduled for 10/9/2021, in an effort to keep everyone’s safety and well-being top priority this year too. We are so grateful to have been married on October 10, 2020 (a sunny, 72 degree day, believe it or not!) during an intimate ceremony with our immediate family in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. As we picked up the marriage license, the courthouse informed us we were technically married in: The Town of Friendship <3 Inside of a waterfront house, we spent the day getting in our selected outfits, sharing our vows, laughing through stories, and dancing together. Justin cooked the family an entire prime rib dinner and we even managed to make a quick trip to Culver's at the end of the night for some Midwestern nostalgia. Please visit the "Photos & Video" tab to see more wedding photos. After that, we'd love to have you check out our wedding video. Use the link included at the top of that page. Anna originally told the videographer we wouldn't need to record the wedding speeches, but we were delighted that he didn't listen to her at all and that they made the cut- we hope you agree. We really appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate this together. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but we'll be reaching out when we can confidently plan a large gathering with all of you! For now, if you have questions or want to catch up, kindly contact Anna or Justin, we are happy to hear from you!
It was 2010 at a graduation party in Wisconsin. She was an unfamiliar face and he was 10 weeks away from moving to New York for culinary school. It wasn't really the best timing. After 13 months of college independence and too many late night Skype calls to count, we "made it official" after a Fourth of July date while on summer holiday in Wisconsin together. Switching up our anniversary is a bit intimidating, because for the past 8 years it's been 6/7. Or was it 7/6? Justin always got confused with the European format... What's happened in those 8 years has been any cliche you'd like to insert here. Roller coaster. Journey. Saga. But we've done it all together as teammates and we'd love to get into some juicy stories on our big day. Totaled convertible cars, 13 hour trips to NYC to meet celebrity chefs, pushing an Uber driver's car through the Mexican desert with the help of some caballeros to make a lunch reservation...it all happened. Anna lived in Des Moines, Iowa while studying at Drake University to complete her Pharmacy Doctorate and attain her MBA. Justin spent that time working in restaurants around the world to grow professionally and gain experience in new and exciting fine dining institutions. With all that said and done, a move from Europe and getting out of the midwest was a mutually agreed goal, and Seattle checked just enough boxes for both of us. It was only when we started to build a community here and break-in the benefits of this place that we realized we love the Pacific Northwest. The coffee, the Sound, the trees, the metro-vibe, the mountain, the diversity and quality of food... the fact that it snows twice a year. If you're traveling to come party with us, we can't wait for you to experience it yourself. We're biased. It's our privilege to invite you to spend 10/10/20 with us, and we can't wait. <3 Anna and Justin
