This love story began in Austin, Texas on December 29th 2022. After spending 5 years in San Francisco, Brad, embarked on a nomadic lifestyle, escaping the hustle bustle and chaos of the bay area in search of a more balanced lifestyle and new opportunities. There was no final destination in mind but after spending a few months in the mountains of Los Angeles, the desert of Arizona, a farm in New Mexico, he found at home on the Colorado river in the suburbs of Austin in November 2022. Shortly after settling in he entered the world of online dating via Hinge. Shian-Shian had moved from Manhattan to Austin in April 2020, also in search of a more balanced lifestyle. She had Hinge downloaded, however had stopped checking it in April 2021, when she decided to focus all her extra time on her bag clip dream. After over 1.5 years, Shian-Shian felt burnt out and decided to give herself a one day break and go on a date. She opened Hinge. As fate would have it, Brad and Shian-Shian matched with each other and went on their first date on December 29th 2022 at a tea shop in Austin TX. They quickly realized they shared many similarities, including their love for health, crypto, business, spirituality, growth and development, a simple lifestyle, and family. With that, Shian-Shian’s one day break turned into a twice a week date with Brad. They both looked forward to their dates, which always entailed hiking in nature, cooking healthy food at home, and discussing their many interests together. 4 months later, in April 2023, they met their first obstacle. Prior to meeting Brad, Shian-Shian had planned to end her lease in April 2023, and leave her full-time corporate job to manufacture her bag clip in Asia. She was willing to delay this, however, Brad needed more time to feel certain about the relationship and did not want to deter her decision without being fully certain, nor stifle her dream. So, he let her go, leaving Shian-Shian confused as to whether he was serious about her. After a month of Shian-Shian being away, Brad came to realize how much he missed her and that realization solidified his feelings for her. He was waiting for her to return to communicate it. Meanwhile, Shian-Shian still wasn’t sure if Brad was serious about her, and she was also hitting many roadblocks with manufacturing, which pushed her trip from 3 months to 10 months. However, as each month went by, she saw Brad patiently waiting and supporting her dream, and she slowly realized that he was indeed serious. When Shian-Shian returned to Austin, their love and respect for each other grew quickly. The 10 months apart had tested them in ways they never anticipated, proving the depth of their trust, loyalty, and unwavering support for one another. Through the distance, they had learned to navigate uncertainty, to hold space for each other’s dreams, and to choose love despite challenges. Their reunion felt like a homecoming—one that reaffirmed what they had sensed deep down; they were meant to be together. Falling back into their rhythm was effortless. They picked up where they left off, hiking through nature, preparing nourishing meals side by side, and engaging in deep conversations that fueled their shared curiosity and growth. Only this time, there was an unspoken certainty between them that they had found something rare and worth cherishing for a lifetime. Now, they can’t wait to gather with their closest family and friends to celebrate spending the rest of their lives together, growing and evolving in love.
