We’re engaged!

Like most millennials, Haley and Matthew’s love story began on a dating app called Hinge. It is unclear as to who swiped on who first but one thing is for certain that the apps do work! One dark and cool November evening, Haley agreed to meet up with Matthew at a local bar in her neighborhood. This was a local watering hole that she found familiar and also knew the escape route. Pictured in their provided photos, Sycamore Den is a perfect date spot. Right off the bat, Haley and Matthew hit it off. Connecting on summer trips to Rock Creek, love of baseball (go Padres) and trying new restaurants. After a drink or two at Sycamore Den, they decided to go to a second location, I know, bold! Haley proceeded to accidentally order 6 bao buns and Matthew knew it was love at first sight. Once the date was over, they both knew that this would not be their last time seeing each other. Tuning to 3 years later, after relentless weekends doing asbestos abatement and painting, Haley and Matthew were ready to move into their newly inherited home! Our first night at home, Matthew set up a projector and had a slideshow ready of their “first” photos together. Photos from their first road trip, first vacation, first holiday and first time to Rocky Mountain National Park together. The last slide of the slideshow said “First night in our new home” and before the photo was taken, Matthew place the engagement ring on his pinkie finger which rested on Haley’s shoulder. As they were taking the selfie, it took Haley a few takes to notice the ring! The moment was captured and the memory will be forever! Haley and Matthew have decided to have a small family wedding ceremony in Rocky Mountain National Park which means a lot to Haley’s family and where Matthew enjoyed/survived his first Thanksgiving with the Shetters.
