Amanda had her 30th birthday party here and ever since we make it a tradition to go at least once every summer. The food and drinks are incredible, and they often have live music as well as lawn games. The restaurant is a boathouse on the river, and they offer a great variety of food options. *Vegan options available
Delicious Mexican restaurant with amazing food and drinks!
Some of THE BEST pizza around. They have 2 dine-in locations in Berkley (4033 W. 12 Mile Rd. Berkley, MI 48072) and Madison Heights, but there are many other locations in the area for carry-out as well. Make sure not to miss out on the cheese bread!
One of the most unique pizza places! They create different pizzas often, and you can make nearly every pizza vegan as well. They have 2 locations: Detroit (5163 Trumbull, Detroit, MI 48208) and Oak Park. The Detroit location has a few tables inside but the Oak Park location is carry-out only.
This was our go-to theater when we lived in Ferndale. It's probably the largest and nicest theater in the area and even has a bowling alley! It's also downtown Royal Oak which has a lot of lively restaurants, bars and shops.
This is our "new" theater of choice since it is closer to our home in Warren. Depending on the movie you pick, there are private pods for 2-3 people that give you a unique movie viewing experience! They also recently added Screen X, which is a theater with a 270-degree panoramic view, if you want to get fully immersed in a film!
This theater is very central to all of the wedding weekend activities, and is the top pick in Aaron's family!
We went here on one of our first dates! We love the big walking trail on the water, the minigolf course, and watching the boats coming in and out of the marina. There is also a beach, waterpark and kayak rentals!
This park is within walking distance of our house! They have a pretty easy 9-hole disc golf course, a walking trail and a nice play place that was newly installed in Fall of 2024.
Another great walking park close to home. One lap around is about 1/3 of a mile. If you're lucky you will see lots of friendly squirrels!
Beautiful park with a walking trail and a playground that is accessible-friendly for all, including a sensory garden. We discovered this park playing Pokemon Go and even we had to try out the jumbo rocking seats!
The first zoo in the U.S. to use bar-less habitats, and focuses on natural habitats for animals in commitment to animal welfare! Be sure to check out the Penguin Conservation Center!
Disc golfing; This is Aaron's favorite disc-golf course! It's 18 holes with a total par of 63. *Course is free however you will have to bring your own discs*
A mix of bowling and football! We have been a few times together with friends, but it's also been one of Aaron's favorite locations since before meeting Amanda. We recommend reserving ahead of time because it's typically pretty busy.
This axe throwing place is located inside the Corner Grill, which also has a large variety of board games. Reserve a lane ahead of time or play some games while you wait!
We’ve been here for a few birthday parties. One price for unlimited pinball action! They also have a few other retro arcade games, and a bar.
