The food and drinks are incredible, and they often have live music. Green Lantern Pizza https://greenlanternpizza.com/ Some of THE BEST pizza around. They have 2 dine-in locations in Berkley (4033 W. 12 Mile Rd. Berkley, MI 48072) and Madison Heights (28960 John R Rd. Madison Heights, MI 48071), but there are many other locations in the area for carry-out as well. Make sure not to miss out on the cheese bread! Pie Sci Pizza https://piescipizza.com/ One of the most unique pizza places around! They create different pizzas often, and you can make nearly every pizza vegan as well. They have 2 locations: Detroit (5163 Trumbull, Detroit, MI 48208) and Oak Park (8150 W Nine Mile Rd, Oak Park, MI 48237). The Detroit location has a few tables inside but the Oak Park location is carry-out only.
Movie Theaters
Emagine Royal Oak 200 North Main Street, Royal Oak, MI 48067 https://www.emagine-entertainment.com/theatres/emagine-royal-oak/ This was our go-to theater when we lived in Ferndale. It's probably the largest and nicest theater in the area and even has a bowling alley! It's also downtown Royal Oak which has a lot of lively restaurants, bars and shops. MJR Marketplace Cinema 20 35400 Van Dyke Ave, Sterling Heights, MI 48312 https://www.mjrtheatres.com/theatres/x07m4-mjr-marketplace-cinema/ This is our "new" theater of choice since it is closer to our home in Warren. Depending on the movie you pick, there are private pods for 2-3 people that give you a unique movie viewing experience!
Parks
Lake St. Clair Metropark 31300 Metropolitan Pkwy, Harrison Township, MI 48045 We went here on one of our first dates! We love the big walking trail on the water, the minigolf course, and watching the boats coming in and out of the marina. There is also a beach, waterpark and kayak rentals! Veteran's Memorial Park 27400 Campbell Rd, Warren, MI 48093 This park is within walking distance of our house! They have a pretty easy 9-hole disc golf course, a walking trail and a nice play place that was newly installed in Fall of 2024. Licht Park 30100 Campbell Ave, Warren, MI 48093 Another great walking park close to home. One lap around is about 1/3 of a mile. If you're lucky you will see lots of friendly squirrels! McKinley Barrier-Free Park 31500 Grove St, Fraser, MI 48026 Beautiful park with a walking trail and a playground that is accessible-friendly for all, including a sensory garden. We discovered this park playing Pokemon Go and even we had to try out the jumbo rocking seats!

Disc Golf at Firefighters Park 1300 W Square Lake, Troy, MI This is Aaron's favorite disc-golf course! It's 18 holes with a total par of 63. Fowling at Fowling Warehouse 3901 Christopher St, Hamtramck, MI 48211 https://fowlingwarehouse.com/hamtramck/ A mix of bowling and football! This place is super cool; We have been a few times together with friends, but it's also been one of Aaron's favorite locations since before meeting Amanda. You can play at any of the open lanes, however we recommend reserving ahead of time because it's typically pretty busy. They have a bar and food as well. Axe Throwing at Detroit Axe 344 West Nine Mile Road, Ferndale, MI 48220 https://www.detroitaxe.com/ If you haven't tried axe throwing, we highly recommend! You do have to reserve a lane ahead of time, but if you want to just check it out they also have a huge selection of board games that you can play while waiting, as well as food and drinks. Ferndale also has a lot of other great places!
