I had just walked into my first college party, excited and nervous about being out with all my teammates. The apartment was full of people, but the second I saw Justin, I didn't care to see anyone else. I turned to my friend Morrow, asked if she knew who he was, exclaimed that I thought I loved him, and before she could even tell me how ridiculous that was, I was across the room right in front of him with a "Hi, I'm Landen, who are you?".... I'd love to tell you the rest was history, but for the next few months Id drool over the very handsome baseball player, though I wouldn't admit it to anyone, especially him.

So not to bring down the vibe, but my grandfather had just passed and as I was on my way back to Birmingham from the funeral, Justin (back then I only knew him as Kemp) texted me asking if there was anything he could do to help me feel better. I won't lie I nearly jumped out of my own skin. Justin asked if he could pick me up for dinner and maybe some bible study once I got back into town. With little hesitation I told him yes, though all the while talking to my mom about how my dream guy may or may not have just asked me out and "Theres no way, it's too good to be true." Well, when I got back to Birmingham I was distracted from my previous mourning with a trip to the batting cages and one of the best views Birmingham has to offer. A long talk about our faith and just about everything else we could think to discuss to drag out the evening. I was already head over cleats for Justin Kemp.

On Easter Sunday we attended the most amazing service at Church. Justin knows I absolutely love Easter, the colors, the traditions, and family all together. Well, after church it was picture time (the backyard on the steps as usual). Now I'll have to tell you, Justin's father is the true American Dad, video camera in hand, just like every holiday. We are all waving to the camera, saying HAPPY EASTER! Then, Justin's mom calls me over and tells me she needs more pictures and when I turn from her to Justin he is down on one knee with a ring in his hand and I am so excited I shout "YES!" before he can even ask. His whole family was there ready to congratulate us, I even got some tears out of Jenna (; So, there you have it, we are getting married!
