On the series finale of "Save The Date" Roop has to decide which of the 3 remaining contestants she'll ask to Save The Date with her. Little does she know, she's in for the surprise of her life!
We were on the phone discussing the little tedious things you have to do when planning a wedding; table settings, guest lists, invitations. Being a film nerd I suggested we send out Video Save The Dates to our friends - something fun and different instead of the basic cards people usually send out. Then I pitched the idea - she loves The Bachelorette. It's her go-to trash TV (some of you reading this are smiling and nodding. Shame on you.) I was describing how I could get my team to put together an episode for us. All the while stewing in my head was how I could spin this to be a proposal - one she wouldn't see coming, would be on camera, and, as per her only requests, "she'd have her nails were done for." 12 hours before roll call and I didn't even have a location secured. She didn't even know the hair pulling stress I was under (she couldn't know or the whole thing would be a bust!). At the 11th Roop suggested I use my Marriot Bonvoy status to shoot in a hotel - genius! That's the moment I knew she was the one (haha). Fun Fact: Roop is genuinely annoyed with me for saying "No" at the end! We had been shooting about 5 hours and everybody was ready to wrap up and go home. My complaining of fatigue only elevated the tension - a little acting to keep her off the scent!
