As many modern love stories do, Christian and Sherry’s began with a swipe—on Hinge (though Christian still insists on telling people it was “Craigslist Connections” for dramatic effect). At first, each of them was convinced the other might be just a little too good to be true, but curiosity won out, and they decided to take a leap of faith and scheduled a date. Their first date on September 30th, 2023 was filled with easy conversation, quick wit, and—true to form—plenty of Christian’s puns. While the chemistry was there, it wasn’t exactly love at first sight. In fact, as the date came to a close, Sherry famously said goodbye to Christian’s dog with, “Have a good life, Lilly—I’ll never see you again.” Of course, fate (and maybe a bit of persistence) had other plans. Over the next few weeks, and several more dates, something quietly shifted. What started as playful banter grew into something deeper, more meaningful, and impossible to ignore. They found themselves wanting to spend more and more time together, until being apart simply didn’t feel right. Before long, they were inseparable—sharing laughter, building routines, and realizing that what they had found in each other was something truly rare. Not long after, they both admitted what had already become obvious: they had found their soulmate. From there, things were a whirlwind. In January 2024—during a snowstorm that felt almost cinematic—Christian officially moved in, marking the start of their life under one roof and the next chapter of their story. Since then, Christian and Sherry have embraced every adventure that’s come their way. Together, they’ve explored new places, including traveling to two new countries (a milestone for Christian, who had never left the U.S. before meeting Sherry!) Today, they’re happily settled in their home in Redmond, OR, surrounded by their beloved pack of dogs and a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Now, they’re counting down the days until they can stand in front of their closest family and friends and finally say, “I do”—the next unforgettable moment in a story that’s only just getting started. 🤍
