We’re married!

We were first introduced via ChristianMingle.com in November 2018. Jesus is central to our relationship, but adventure has also been a major theme. So far we have traveled to Portland, New York, Dallas, San Francisco, Las Vegas, the Gorge, the Olympic National Forest and we have no intentions of slowing down! BUT what you really came here for is the proposal story, isn't it?! I, Allison, almost ruined it. We were on vacation in Maui with my mom, stepdad, and mom's friends Jim & Mary. I was enjoying sitting on the lanai in my swimsuit drinking cocktails. Dan was getting REALLY antsy and kept telling me to go take a shower. Never one to be told what to do, I dug my heels in and doubled down on cocktails in swimsuit time. When he finally begged me to go shower and put on a dress, I decided to listen. When I re-emerged onto the lawn where Dan was waiting, he practically drug me onto the beach just as the sun was setting. I suspected something was up because Mary was doing a not very sneaky job of videotaping. Dan started talking to me about our relationship. Then got down on one knee and pulled out the beautiful Heidi Gibson Original Gatsby ring I had "lightly" hinted at wanting. Of course I said yes. I, Dan, fell in love with Allison the first time we kissed. I was amazed by how easy it was to talk to her, and how much fun we had together. After she met my family in Dallas, she started talking about a specific type of engagement ring that is only available online. I realized that I should hurry up and order it, before we went to Maui. I was a bit nervous that it wouldn't arrive in time, but it arrived in plenty of time. On our second night in Maui, at sunset, I kept urging her to change out of her bathing suit and into a dress, and while she was initially reluctant, she finally went inside and changed. When she reappeared, I took her hand and led her to the beach, and said some nice things, then I got down on 1 knee and asked her to marry me, and she said yes!
