FAQs

Question

So, a destination wedding?!

Answer

We know! Having to make this decision was hard but also a practical one. Our lives have been busy and we rarely have made time for a proper getaway. We know many of you are in the same boat! We hope we have given you enough time to consider vacationing with us. We want you to know if you can make it out, we are BEYOND grateful and can’t wait to celebrate with you. But if you can’t, we completely understand why. We promise, no hard feelings!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’ve carefully considered everyone invited because our wedding package only allows for a certain number of guests. As of right now, only invited guests can attend the wedding, but this may change as our RSVP list fills up. Just check back with the bride and groom in the coming weeks.

Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

YES! All guests require a passport to entire Mexico. If you have a passport, be sure to check the expiration date. Processing times for passport applications and renewals can take up to a few months (thanks COVID!) So please, don’t wait!

Question

Dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We figure “Beach Casual” sounds about right but if you want to be dressed to the nines, that’s ok too! It’s a celebration, so let’s be comfortable and have fun! Keep in mind that a few of the fancy restaurants and the night club at the resort might have a dress code ( no denim, no flip flops) so it’s probably a good idea to pack a range of outfits. Be sure to bring multiple bathing suits for the duration of your trip. Biodegradable/ ocean friendly sunscreen and non greasy mosquito repellent is a MUST!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

As it turns out, the weather should be ideal during this time! Mid to high 80s during the day and mid to high 60s during the night. Caribbean water temperature typically stays between 80 and 85 degrees.

Question

Can I use USD currency at the resort?

Answer

Yes, many resorts, tours, and stores take both USD and pesos, but be sure to prepare your credit and debit cards. Call your bank and let them know the dates you’ll be gone. Charges made at the resort or elsewhere on your trip may be subject to to a foreign transaction fee by your bank. General consensus is that credit cards are the safest bet.

Question

Do I need to tip at the resort?

Answer

Tipping the bartenders, housekeepers, waiters is appreciated but not necessary. If you tip, however, cash and pesos is preferred and you may get more alcohol in your drinks, quicker service, etc.

Question

Any COVID restrictions?

Answer

As of July 2022, a negative COVID test is NOT required to enter Mexico, and you DO NOT need to test negative to re-enter the US. Masks are not required at the resort, but that depends on changing restrictions. All we ask is that you remember to stay safe when traveling. We will update this information if anything changes. We also recommend that you consider insuring you trip through whichever travel services you choose. No telling what curve balls life (and this pandemic) will throw our way next!
