We met while working together at Chick-Fil-A in Lake Park. We became apart of the same friend group and frequently hung out together on our Sundays off.
Clay asked me to be his girlfriend on January 18, 2017 (which is also my birthday). He made a poster with sunflowers on it and everything!
We had family photos scheduled with his family and my family, I’m not sure how that didn’t give it away for me. We arrived at the venue, took some photos with our families and then our photographer, Logan, wanted to take some photos of just us two. At one point she had us walk towards the camera, hand in hand. She then asked that we walk away from the camera, still holding hands. While doing this, Clay dropped my hand and I immediately turned around to see him down on one knee. All I remember is saying “DUH!!” when he asked me to marry him. I quickly realized the ring was once my mom’s, with two new diamonds on either side of the original. Clay knows how sentimental I am, so my ring means the absolute world to me!
One Saturday, around 8 a.m., our day began with a huge surprise. We were going to have a baby!! Words cannot express the joy (and fear) we felt.
At 11:27 a.m., we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Millie, into the world. Our lives flipped completely upside down in the very best way, love had a new meaning, and sleep became a thing of the past. Being parents has been the greatest gift life has given us!
We can’t wait to see you there. :)
