How We Met (Thank you LSU)

November 19, 2022

It all started on a cold(shocking), November night. Clayton walks into the bar with his buddies to do what boys do on a Saturday night, play the arcade games. After some time of Alexis fighting with the old couple sitting next to her that Auburn was NOT superior to LSU, she decided to go to the other side of the bar to watch them. Just like a predictable rom-com, Alexis asks Clayton, “is this seat taken?” In old Clayton fashion he says something along the lines of “only available for a girl as pretty as you.” Little did he know she was asking for the seat to watch his rival team. After seeing a grown man sliding his hand across a ball built into a machine while yelling “FORE” and watching LSU lose, (they started slow that season) she’d hope the curly haired, brown eyed boy would come back to talk to her. As the game ended, his friend went up to the bar next to her to pay their tab. She asks one of them and said “y’all are leaving so soon?” His only response was “yes cause my friend is being an a**hole so we have to leave”. (That a**hole was in fact Clayton). His friends decided to leave and he got left there so his only option was to go see what the girl that asked for the seat was up to. After a little while of talking, she soon realized what his friends meant by him being an a**hole. So once he thought “hey I might get this girls number”, she decided to tell him the reason she wanted the seat was to watch LSU, not to sit next to him. That was the moment he decided to let her know she probably wouldn’t give it to him since his team was Alabama. In that moment she knew, she would never be able to take him home unless she planned on him being there forever. To this day, football season is a home divided into two but two hearts put together, forever.
