We first met at a volleyball game during orientation week, but we did not get to know each other until classes started. In fact, we only had a few conversations during the fall semester before I asked her to grab coffee with me. The few interactions I had with her always reflected a true Christian’s heart, one that exemplified her commitment to Jesus and her love for others. Her kindness and beauty quickly took my heart and I felt like I had to ask her out or else I would regret it for the rest of my life. It turns out I was absolutely right! I barely scraped by with the opportunity to take her on a second date, but she graciously obliged to my request. We explored Lynchburg for hours going from bistro to coffee shop to ice cream parlor, talking the entire night. It was during the second date I knew something special would brew between us. It surprised us both how quickly we fell in love!
