Yes! A valid passport is required for travel to Mexico. Please make sure it won’t expire within 6 months of your trip.
You are more than welcome to bring your little one under 2 years old! Since they do not require a separate seat, they won’t be listed on the RSVP. Children over the age of 2 who are included in your invitation will be listed on the RSVP.
Mexico uses the Mexican Peso (MXN). You don’t necessarily need to carry pesos the whole time—most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept credit cards. However, if you plan to shop from street vendors or smaller local spots, it’s helpful to have some pesos on hand. You can exchange money through your bank before your trip, or withdraw pesos from an ATM once you arrive in San Miguel. Tip: When paying by card (at an ATM, hotel, restaurant, or store), you may be asked if you want to pay in your home currency. Always decline and choose to be charged in Mexican Pesos (MXN)—your bank’s exchange rate is usually better.

Walking! San Miguel is best explored on foot—you’ll be on charming cobblestone streets in the historic center. Taxis and Uber are readily available throughout the city, but you'll often find it is quicker to walk most places due to traffic.
Yes! San Miguel is considered a safe and tourist-friendly city. As with any destination, we simply recommend using general travel awareness—being mindful of your belongings and avoiding walking alone late at night.
Expect warm days and cooler evenings, with the chance of some rain. Daytime highs are around 77°F and evenings can drop to around 55°F. We recommend packing comfortable shoes for cobblestone streets and a light sweater or cardigan for mornings and nights.
No! We do not recommend drinking tap water. Please stick to bottled, purified, or properly filtered water. Ice and water at reputable hotels and restaurants are generally safe, as they typically use filtered sources.
