Honor Hen (AKA MOH) & Officiant
I can hardly begin describing Christy without mentioning she is one of the most intelligent people I know with the charisma to match. With advice kin to that of a big sister, I often look to Christy as my north star guiding me through unknown territory. I met Christy during my time at EY Seattle office. I was at the height of my rebelling against the "Seattle freeze" when this amazing human transferred from the Chicago office. I knew if we were going to be more than office pals, our guys needed to friends too. Soon, the 4 of us went from hanging out at Greenlake to backpacking in the in the snow at Navaho Pass and backpacking/"surviving mile-7" (of) the Kalalau Trail along Nā Pali Coast of the island of Kauai. As a natural storyteller, Christy is also a co-officiant.
Honor Hen (AKA MOH)
I met Emily through Eli and Christy. She is the sister of Eli (groomsman) and wife of Andy (groomsman). She is also mother to Marge, a Maremma sheepdog. Most would agree that this last fact is probably the most thing she would want you to know about her. From the moment I met this woman (the night she learned who Jeff Bezos was at an almost all-Amazon rooftop party), I knew I had found a forever friend. She has this spirit that people naturally gravitate toward and a kindness that just radiates. You just feel better being around her and you are better for knowing her. Since becoming friends, the six of us have traveled a ton together. If we are not off on an adventure, we are typically together planning our next one. With an 800-word limit, I will close by saying that I am just so lucky.

Only a few days after I transferred to WSU, I met Ryan and we quickly became friends. Bonding over episodes of Jersey Shore, playing darts at the bar and the pursuit of getting “huge” at the gym (which totally happened). We ended our senior year by driving from Olympia to Las Angeles via highway 101, camping along the way. Having a friend like Ryan to finishing out my college years with was a truly amazing.

I met Justin the summer before high school when my family moved back to Auburn and he was our new neighbor. Justin and I became friends during a really hard time in my life and I can’t tell you how much easier it was with a friend like him around. Even though we went to different high schools, we were almost inseparable during the weekends and especially summer breaks. I’d say the #1 thing we bonded over was making videos beginning with ‘epic’ ping pong shot videos. We then started to write/film/direct 5-10 min comedy short sketches including a 24-min movie called “West Lake Story” about "gang culture" in the upper middle class neighborhood of Lakeland Hills. I still love watching the videos especially the bloopers where we try getting through a scene without laughing. It rarely happened.

I first met Eli when Theresa planned a get together at Green lake in Seattle and she was inviting a friend from work, Christy, and her Boyfriend, Eli. I knew we were going to get along just fine when I shared a “top 10 most dangerous hikes in world” article with him and suggested we backpack one of them… and instead of saying the normal thing like “no thank you” or “that sounds crazy”, I was pleasantly surprised when the answer was “looks amazing, where do we sign up?”. We have since been on backpacking trips all around the PNW, Hawaii and abroad.

Andy was one of the first of an ever-growing list of friends from Ohio. I met Andy and his wife Emily on a rooftop get together in Capitol Hill. They were preparing to move to Seattle and seemed eager to get out and adventure. My kind of people. Andy is a ‘go with the flow’ kind-of-guy. Whether you’re asking him if he wants ski a double black diamond, go backpacking in Scotland or Bike 100 miles in Denali's bear-country, you can bet the answer is “let’s do it!”

Tyler and I have known each other since 11 years old when we were on the same soccer team and have been friends ever since. Saturday nights at Tyler’s house was a common occurrence growing up and some of the best memories of my pre-teen/teenage years came from those nights. In middle school, Saturday nights would be filled with staying up all night playing Halo, downloading music on LimeWire, burning CD’s and hoping my parents didn’t figure out I had a CD with 50 cent, Eminem and Afro Man on it. High school at Tyler’s house consisted of some intense ping pong tournaments, late nights at the tennis court and fires in the backyard.
