Travel Note
- Lerici · San Terenzo · Tellaro - Perfect for relaxed beach days overlooking the Gulf of Poets. You can park in San Terenzo, enjoy the beach, and walk along the coast to Lerici (or vice versa). From Lerici, boat trips to Portovenere and Palmaria Island are highly recommended. - Cinque Terre - Train from Sarzana or La Spezia is strongly recommended (no cars!). With a day ticket, you can move freely between these UNESCO World Heritage villages. If you have to choose: Manarola (aperitivo at Nessun Dorma, unmissable) Vernazza (our favourite for views and atmosphere) - Portofino - About 1h15 by car or train from Sarzana. - Bocca di Magra - Charming riverside village where the river meets the sea, with stunning views of the marble mountains. You can rent a boat and explore hidden beaches such as Punta Bianca and Punta Corvo. - Cerreto Laghi - Forests, lakes, fresh air, and cooler temperatures.
Travel Note
- Versilia – Viareggio - Easy to reach by train or car, with a long promenade and some of the most famous beach clubs, restaurants, and shopping places in the area. - Forte dei Marmi - Our “little Italian Dubai”. Go if you want to spend a lot of money :) - Bolgheri · Castagneto Carducci - Wine country, countryside lunches, and the iconic cypress road. - San Gimignano · Volterra · Montepulciano · Monteriggioni · Lucca · Siena - Iconic medieval towns rich in history, art, and breathtaking views. - Pisa · Florence - Historic centres, art, and architecture. Summer tip: Italian summers can be intense. Large cities like Florence and Pisa are beautiful but hot and crowded in July. We suggest balancing city visits with beach days or quieter countryside towns for a more relaxed experience.
