We’re getting married!

Caden and Emily’s story began in kindergarten, where they first met and continued to attend the same schools through elementary, middle, and high school. Initially, Emily knew Caden as the annoying boy who once put yogurt in her hair during lunch. Caden on the other hand, saw Emily as the pretty girl who was way out of his league. Lucky for him, her perception changed in seventh grade when they were assigned to sit at the same science table, quickly becoming best friends. To Caden’s dismay, their relationship remained platonic for the next four years. However, during the fall semester of their junior year, Caden finally got up the courage to ask Emily on a date. They painted the sunset while picnicking at the park and ended the night with glow-in-the-dark mini golf. About a week later, on October 12th, 2020, Caden asked Emily to be his girlfriend at the Dallas Arboretum. Since then, Caden and Emily's relationship has deepened. They have fallen in love, watched countless sunsets, shared many laughs, and even navigated periods of long-distance. They strive to make Jesus the center of their relationship and are excited to see what the Lord has in store for their future. As they enter this new chapter, they praise God for His goodness and faithfulness, trusting in His plan for their lives.

Emily was accompanying Caden and his family on their annual vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A few months before they left, Emily had mentioned to Caden that it would be perfect if he proposed on the trip. Little did Emily know, Caden already had a plan in the works. To ensure that she was surprised, Caden said everything he could to throw Emily off. He even asked her what size ring she wore the day before the proposal. His family always takes photos on the beach in color coordinating outfits. So it was not out of the ordinary for Caden to tell Emily to bring a white dress. Family portraits were taken as normal, and then Caden’s family started to head back to the condo. Emily asked Caden’s sister to get one more photo of them before they went up. Suddenly, Caden got a phone call. He stepped away, and a few moments later, his sister got a call as well and started walking off. Emily was completely oblivious to the fact that their calls were with each other. So, she let Caden talk and walked around the beach a little bit. Then he motioned her over and started relaying some fake scenario. When Emily started asking questions, he smiled and got down on one knee. As he had hoped, Emily was completely surprised, and even more surprised when he opened the ring box that she had no idea he had with him the entire night. As soon as the ring was on her finger, Caden’s family came out from behind the sand dunes. Emily’s mom was able to watch the whole thing over FaceTime. It was such a blessing that she could share that special moment with her mother even though they were in different states. The family had been capturing the proposal so perfectly. Lots more photos were taken to commemorate the occasion. When they got back to the condo, Caden and Emily were surprised with a homemade dinner and sparkling cider that Caden’s family had prepared. The couple felt so loved and are so grateful for such amazing people in their lives. The evening was truly perfect and will be a memory the two cherish forever!
