San Jose International Airport
San Jose Airport is quite a bit closer to Santa Cruz than San Francisco International Airport, so we do recommend trying to fly in there. From the airport, you can Uber to Santa Cruz (fares estimated to be $40-$65 for the trip), rent a car, or take bus. Unless you have extra exploration planned, renting a car is not necessary, since Santa Cruz is a walkable area.

We recommend trying to find a place within walking distance of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or The Santa Cruz Dream Inn. Santa Cruz is a beautiful area to explore on foot! Other beautiful locations to stay that are a short Uber ride or a longer walk away include Seabright and Capitola.

Bus transportation from San Jose Airport to Santa Cruz
As of this month, it appears there is no longer a shuttle from San Jose Airport to Santa Cruz. As such, we are recommending taking the busses listed on this website. ANOTHER OPTION: Let us know when you are arriving. We are trying to help guests who arrive at similar times share Ubers/Lyfts to help keep costs down, and will try to connect you with other guests you can ride with.
