How We Met

It All Started With A Beer

We actually met at a friend's birthday party. It was Derek's 21st birthday and we wound up bar hopping around town. David said maybe three words to me the entire night (which is no surprise) and we parted ways. The next time I saw him about six weeks later was when I had just gotten home from school. He sat down at our table in JP's and I joked about how he probably didn't remember me. He then listed off 5 totally random facts about me that proved he had truly listened to the conversation a couple of weeks prior. We talked all night long and didn't want to part ways when it was closing time. As we were walking out of the bar I turned to my mom and told her "I'm gonna marry that man one day."

The Proposal

Tale As Old As Time

It might come to a surprise to some, but David almost rivals me as the biggest Disney fan in the house. We had bought tickets to go see Beauty and the Beast at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. When time came, David drove us up for a small weekend get away! We did some of our favorite things up there which included the lounge theater and Joe's Crab Shack. After we watched the amazing production I told David I couldn't think of a better weekend and that it was never going to be able to be topped. He said "I've got one more thing" and then popped the question at the Fox. I was truly shocked and had absolutely no idea. I actually looked at him and said "Are you sure you want to do this? Is this a joke?" He had had the ring for months and was just waiting on the perfect time. I love being able to say Disney was a part of our engagement, and David did such an amazing job.
