Jeb and I met while at UMHB. My roommate had invited some transfer students over to the Bungalow (the house I renovated off campus) and Jeb happened to be one of them! That was the day we met, but we didn't start officially dating until several months later. Fast forward a few years and we began following along on the renovation of a wedding venue in Georgetown. Our favorite brunch resturant, Monument Cafe, is across the street from the venue that was being built. Everytime we would eat at Monument we would take a walk around the square to check out the progress. The venue was being built onto an old house so I was infatuated with it! One day we got all dressed up for brunch, headed to Monument Cafe, and decided to take a walk... As we approached the venue, Jeb got on one knee and asked me to marry him!! It was so sweet! He even had one of our friends, Lizzy, hiding across the street taking pictures! So many people wondered why a construction site was in the background of our proposal, but if you know us, you know how fitting it is. Which brings us to our current adventure... We both thought we were going to get married at the venue in Georgetown, no questions asked. However, after discovering some outrageous terms and conditions of renting the venue we decided to look elsewhere. November came along and we still didn't have a venue. One day, Papa took me to lunch and started telling me about a Ranch that he was considering purchasing. He said "Shelly, I love the land but I just don't know what we'd do with those damn buildings." Those buildings he was reffering to happened to be a run down wedding venue! Papa then asked if I would be interested in renovating the venue and helping to run it. Of course, this took no thought on my end, the answer was yes!! So here we are, only a couple months later, trying to complete the venue in time for the wedding... I can't wait to share the space with each and every one of you on our special day!
