Jason and I met at Bemis Junior High School. I would text Jason for math help, which if you know us then that may seem off (Jason hates math and I love it). At the time, I had no idea. Fast forward to the 10th grade when we started hanging out. July 23, 2012 we were walking out the door, Jason grabbed me by the shoulder and asked "will you be my girlfriend" and awkward 15 year old me looked back, smiled, then turned back around said yes and walked out the door.
Here we are, finally! Jason and I were going out on a date day. Our plan was to go to Downtown Detroit to hangout and get dinner. Jason decided to take us to the Detroit River for a nice walk. It was a beautiful day in June, just after the stormy weather we've had. We got maybe 12 steps into our walk along the river and Jason picked this time to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him. The answer was yes, of course! After calling all our friends and family, we headed to dinner. Come to find out, because of the weather and flooding we were having, most of Detroit didn't have power, which was where we had dinner reservations for. We called other restaurants, but weren't having any luck getting in without a long wait time. Jason and I decided that since we weren't going to a restaurant, we had to get Taco Bell to ensure we ended the night on a happy note.
