The Standard, East Village
We will be getting ready for our wedding at The Standard Hotel, which is located at 25 Cooper Square, New York, NY 10003. This hotel is in a really great location, easy access to subway and bus lines, and has lots of good food options close by. If you are also interested in staying at The Standard, please don't hesitate! However, there are lots of hotels close by the venue if this is not your preferred option!
Travel Note
For those traveling in the US, we don't suggest driving!
New York and New Jersey have a lot of tolls and are very congested. Most hotels will not provide you parking, and the price to park in garages is very expensive. Instead, we suggest to utilize the public trains or to fly. If you need to drive, consider parking at the Newark Airport overnight and taking a New Jersey Train into the city. But don't be daunted! If you need help navigating, please feel free to reach out to us or our parents for guidance.
Travel Note
Subways and Buses are the Best Modes of Transport in the City:
While subway and bus lines may seem overwhelming and confusing, they are the best modes of transportation in NYC - both for time and for cost. You may get a subway card through the machines located in the entrance of every station or easily tap a credit card on the turnstiles which utilize TAP. For those of you who do not wish to use public transportation, Lyft and Uber are typically better and cheaper than yellow taxis. If you need help with NYC navigation, we will be available the week of the wedding, and will be happy to help you.
Travel Note
Some of the City is Still Cash Based:
There are still some places in Chinatown and other parts of NYC only accept cash. Please make sure to have some cash with you, just in case. But don't worry! There are many easy to access ATM machines.
