We first crossed paths in an organic chemistry lab (corny, we know...) during Fall 2021, our very first semester after transferring to Texas A&M Galveston. In the spring semester, we ended up in a study group together. We quickly bonded over a love of iced coffee and fell into an easy morning study routine.
Fall of 2022 brought us back together in an invertebrate zoology class after a whole summer of radio silence. We simply fell back into the same banter, and hanging out in our chemistry trio (we love you Lauren!!). When Ben picked me up from the airport after Thanksgiving break, everything had shifted. He asked me to be his girlfriend a few days later ;)
On our third summer trip to Montana, the group planned a sunrise hike in Glacier National Park — on the same trail I’d done during my very first Johnson family vacation. This time, we took a slightly different route and made our way to Baring Falls, where I thought we were just stopping for a fun group photo. Ben and I climbed around to the waterfall while his mom got ready to take our picture. I looked up to smile for the camera and when I turned back, Ben was down on one knee!
