While it wasn’t the happiest of occasions, the way we met will always hold a special place in both of our hearts. Landon’s grandmother (MeMe) was hospitalized on my unit at the hospital and had a rough go at it. In her final days, she was assigned to be my patient and that’s when I first met Landon. I spent most of that night with him and his family, listening to their stories of their family and of MeMe. Unfortunately, Landon was still living in Seattle at the time so we kept in touch for awhile, but eventually we both got busy with our lives. A lot of major life events happened then. I had Jameson and Landon joined the military and deployed. And then one fateful day he decided to reach back out to me while he was in Syria. The rest, as they say, is history.
