We met like all great love stories do, on a Rugby pitch. We instantly bonded over being from the Mid-Atlantic and our love of crab cakes. Being teammates led to an amazing friendship and as time went on and our friendship grew, we realized we were meant to be life long adventure buddies! We have spent our time hiking, camping, canoeing, trying new foods/drinks, living in new places, and meeting new people. Riley was the last addition to the adventure crew and she helps to remind us to learn, grow, and love unconditionally.
Sydney and I had plans to go to lunch on Saturday, and we decided on our way to grab a cup of coffee and visit the Children's Chapel in Rockport. We had been here before, the chapel is open and made of stone, with an archway that overlooks the ocean. This day was a Bluebird day, and you could see all of the islands out beyond the shore. It was also 10 degrees with fresh snow, so we took our selfies, finished our coffee, and made moves to head back. Before we headed back to the car, we stopped just below the chapel under a tree for one last selfie. Sydney took that opportunity to pull out a ring, and asked me to marry her. It was something from a dream-it didn't feel real! We had our moment, and then I heard crunching snow behind me. I ignored it thinking it was strangers coming to see the Chapel, but in reality was our good friend Amber, decked head to toe in snow gear, taking photos of the whole event! We quickly posed for a few more photos, then sought refuge from the cold for our long awaited lunch.
