Steven and I started 'dating' in 2008 while we were still in elementary school. We sat by each other in our homeroom class, and I would help Steven with his spelling words, ha! Through junior high, our relationship grew by supporting each other in sports, buying track phones when Steven would get grounded (for not doing his spelling words HA!) just so we could talk, and walking each other home after school. While in high school, we went to the movies nearly every weekend, spent summers at the pool, and we went on dates together almost every other night. When we graduated high school, we took separate paths. However, we have always found our way back to each other. He moved 32-hours away from our hometown for work the day after graduation, and I went off to college. When he completed his job in North Dakota, he moved to Alabama for school. I always knew Steven was special, but I realized how special I was to him when he made an 8-hour drive every weekend to visit me. Steven proposed in April 2018, just as my senior year was coming to a close and we were preparing for my last sorority formal. Steven has been my best friend and stayed by my side through every hardship I have faced in the past ten years, and I immensely appreciate his loyalty, steadiness, and consistency through it all. We have definitely gotten to know each other pretty well, and neither of us will deny the fact that we are polar opposites in most degrees. I am confident that where I lack, Steven can pick up the slack and vise versa. Because of this, I know we will make a great team throughout the rest of our lives together!
